Head of Shari’a Compliance Department

A leading bank is actively hiring a Head of Shari’a Compliance Department for their UAE office.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Lead and monitor the level of compliance with HSA resolutions.
• Represent the company in Shari’a compliance-related matters.
• Review new policies and procedures, and approve all activities, products, and services to be executed ensuring in line with Shari’a compliance requirements.
• Ensure all departments are operating within the Shari’a framework.
• Manage a team of professionals providing guidance and support to improve awareness and level of compliance knowledge and related skills.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities.
• Prepare, submit, and discuss compliance reports with the key stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the management.

To be successful you will need to meet the following:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 10 years in Shari’a-related functions in Islamic banking.
• In-depth knowledge of banking and Islamic banking products.
• Strong knowledge of AAOIFI Shari’a Standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic.
