Compliance Officer

Flow has partnered with a leading law firm who are hiring a Compliance Officer to be based in Abu Dhabi. As a Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and maintain an effective compliance program while fostering a culture of integrity and ethics within the company.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Develop and implement comprehensive compliance policies and procedures that align with local and international regulations.
• Monitor and assess the organization’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay up to date with regulatory changes and industry developments, and proactively communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters, including anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into business processes and systems.
• Investigate and resolve compliance issues, incidents, or breaches, and implement measures to prevent their recurrence.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings accurately and within specified deadlines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring open lines of communication and timely reporting.
• Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and assist in the development and execution of compliance monitoring programs.
• Participate in internal and external compliance audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

To be successful you will need to meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance or similar. Advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven work experience as a Compliance Officer or similar role, preferably in the financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and frameworks relevant to Abu Dhabi, such as UAE Central Bank regulations.
• Strong understanding of AML, CTF, and sanctions compliance regulations.
• Familiarity with compliance risk management principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Professional certifications in compliance (e.g., CAMS, CFE, CRCM) are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently, handle confidential information, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
• Proactive mindset with a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
